CINNAMON ORNAMENTS

Fragrant and interesting ornaments made in your kitchen.
1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
2 cups cinnamon
Preheat oven to 150 degrees.
Mix applesauce and cinnamon together in an electric mixer for about
5 minutes, until the dough looks like clay. It will be smooth
and not very sticky. Dust hands with cinnamon to be able to handle the dough.
Dust a rolling pin and board with cinnamon and roll out to about
1/4 an inch thick or more. Cut out with holiday cookie cutters.
Use a straw to cut a hole for a string or ribbon for hanging.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet in the oven to dry for one hour.
Remove the ornaments from the cookie sheets and place
directly on the oven racks for another hour and a half.
Note: These are not edible.

PEPPERMINT MILK BATH

1/2 cup Powdered Milk
1 Tablespoon dried peppermint leaves
Pulverize the mint with spice or coffee grinder
(or the old-fashioned way with mortar and pestle).
Mix mint and milk together and seal in a lidded jar. Keep in a cool dry place.

EASY HERBAL BATH

Add herbs to your tub by putting the herbs into a muslin bag and tie it
directly under the tap as the water is running. You can also add scented oil to the mixture
if you want to. Here are a few ideas for herbs to use:

Chamomile - soothing and cleansing
Comfrey – rejuvinating
Lovage - deodorizing and cleansing
Lady's mantle - soothes skin irritation
Black tea - relieving sunburn pain
Mint - soothing and relaxing
Lavender - relaxing and aromatic

EASY MILK BATH

Just add 1/2 - 1 cup of dried milk to your bath water for a softening and soothing bath.

MILK BATH

2 cups dry milk powder
1 cup cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon fragrance oil of your choice
Blend together all ingredients in blender.
Add 1/2 cup of mixture to hot bath water.

INSTANT BATH SALTS

1 cup salt
1 cup epsom salt
1 cup baking soda

For lightly scented bubbles, just add 1 cup of shampoo.
For a nice scent, add a few drops of fragrance oil.

VANILLA BATH BOMBS

Mix 1 part citric acid (you can get this at a pharmacy) with 2 1/4 parts
baking soda. Add several drops of vanilla (or your favorite) essential oil
and a few drops food coloring. Moisten by spraying with water or witch hazel
(witch hazel is better since it evaporates much more quickly) until mixture
just begins to stick together. Take truffle sized scoops of the mixture and
shape into balls. Balls should be about 1" in diameter. Let balls rest on a
sheet of waxed paper for 2 - 3 hours. Let the bombs dry and harden for 24 -
48 hours. Pack each bomb into its own muffin cup (paper liners sold in
baking section in your grocery store). Store bombs in a closed container. To
use drop, 1 -3 bombs into warm bath water.
